Privacy Policy

KUDO Accounting respects and values the users visiting our websites, blogs, and other digital properties and takes reasonable measures to protect personal identity and information. This privacy policy extends to all web properties and domains owned by KUDO Accounting, including but not limited to:

Ownership

KUDO Accounting is the sole owner of the information collected on its web properties. KUDO Accounting collects information from its users at several different points on our websites.

Information Collection

We collect Personal Information that is provided by Site users. “Personal Information” includes your name, address, telephone number, credit or debit card information, e-mail address, date of birth, and IP address. Personal Information is collected when you establish an account with us, place an order on the Site, participate in a contest, sweepstakes or on-line survey, or when you communicate with any of our departments such as customer service, sales or technical services through the Site, telephone, or mail. In some instances, we may obtain other people’s names and email addresses that you may choose to provide as part of our “email a friend” feature.

Web Beacons

We may collect information from visits to the Site through the use of “Web Beacons.” Web Beacons are web page elements that may employ cookie technology that enables us to record data about visits to or transactions made on the Site. This information is sometimes known as “clickstream data.” We may use this data to analyze trends and statistics to improve your online experience or our customer service. No Personal Information is collected through the use of Web Beacons on the Site.

Cookies

Through the use of cookies, we may also collect and analyze the IP address used to connect your computer to the Internet; computer and connection information such as your browser type and version; operating system and platform; purchase history; confirmation when you open e-mail that we send you; and the URLs which lead you to and around the Site including the date and time. You can generally set your browser to reject cookies or to notify you when you are sent a cookie. Software is also available from third parties which will allow you to visit the Site without providing this information. You are welcome to use the Site if you use such software but we will not be able to offer you our personalized services, and we will be unable to accept any online orders from you.

Orders

If you place an order through the Site, you will be required to provide contact, billing, and payment information. A user must provide contact information (such as name, email, and billing address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.

Form Submissions and Email Newsletter Subscriptions

Upon placing an order through the Site, you will automatically begin receiving email newsletters and other marketing communications based on the Personal Information you provided unless you opt out of receiving such communications. In order to make our emails more relevant and useful to you, we may use third-party systems to track open rates, clicks, and other relevant metrics.

Registration

In order to use KUDO Accounting services at any level, and to access certain information or areas of the website, a user may be required to complete a registration form. During registration, a user is required to give contact information (such as name, telephone number, or an email address). We use this information to contact the user about products and services on our sites. It is optional for the customer to provide demographic information (such as income level and gender) but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our sites.

Profile

We store information that we collect through cookies and log files to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. It also allows users to reset their passwords, access their orders, or download files. Consequently, collected information is tied to the user’s personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user’s visit to our websites, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share personally identifiable elements of your profile with other third parties. Your profile is shared in aggregate form only.

Log Files

Like most websites, our servers use log files to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc., are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Clear Gifs

Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users’ personally identifiable information.

How we use and share information

Subject to the legal exceptions listed in the Privacy Policy, KUDO Accounting will not disclose to third parties contact information uploaded to our websites by our users for the purpose of using KUDO Accounting products or services. On occasion, KUDO Accounting will share some relevant user information with KUDO Accounting partners to provide accurate quotes, estimates, customize solutions, and provide a seamless, enhanced customer experience.

Transactional Emails

We send all customers transactional emails summarizing their order details, including credit card charges. These emails are part of the KUDO Accounting online purchase process, and users cannot opt-out of receiving them, though they can deactivate their account. Information identifying the credit card is not included in these communications.

Customer Service

We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and regarding issues relating to their accounts. We reply via email or phone, in accordance with the user’s wishes.

Legal Disclaimer

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website. For example, KUDO Accounting may disclose personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or third parties in response to criminal or civil subpoenas.

Sharing Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)

We may share aggregated demographic information with our partners. This is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Sharing with Third-Party Intermediaries

We use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Business Transition Events

In the event KUDO Accounting goes through a business transition, such as a merger, or acquisition by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information. If, as a result of the business transition, the users’ personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, they will be given a choice not to have their information used in this different manner.

Opt-out

KUDO Accounting users and visitors who do not wish to receive our promotional communications may opt-out from receiving these communications by clicking the opt-out link included at the bottom of every promotional message.
